DARE to Succeed!
Raising a kid is tough, and MOViN 92.5 wants to help you get your kids on the track to Success! There's two great programs already implemented that will help your child become an upstanding citizen – D.A.R.E. and Deca! Thanks to them, we'll be providing you with a little insight every week on how to help your kids.  Click Here for more.

DARE to Succeed tip of the Week:  Set a good example. Take an active role in your community. Attend a meeting of your school board. Take your child with you.

Washington D.A.R.E. and Washington DECA have teamed up with MOViN 92.5 to offer a unique and educational program to the community.    It's tough raising kids into upstanding citizens, but these are two programs that can really help put your kids on the right track!

Washington DECA, the marketing arm of local high schools, teaches kids real life business skills through enriching experiences in the classroom and in the community.  Many DECA members are former D.A.R.E. graduates.   The D.A.R.E. Program is about giving kids the skills and information they need to make good life choices.  Together, these two programs with the support of Safe Drug Disposal NW and the voice of MOViN 92.5 will provide a valuable service to local youth!

The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program is going high-tech, interactive, and decision-model-based. Gleaming with the latest in prevention science and teaching techniques, D.A.R.E. is reinventing itself as part of a major national research study that promises to help teachers and administrators cope with ever-evolving federal prevention program requirements and the thorny issues of school violence, budget cuts, and terrorism.
New D.A.R.E. officers are trained as "coaches" to support kids who are using research-based refusal strategies in high-stakes peer-pressure environments. New D.A.R.E. students are getting to see for themselves -- via stunning brain imagery -- tangible proof of how substances diminish mental activity, emotions, coordination and movement. Mock courtroom exercises are bringing home the social and legal consequences of drug use and violence.

Due to budget cutbacks, the D.A.R.E. program has seen diminished participation in Western Washington.  With this partnership Washington DECA students, who are D.A.R.E. graduates, have the opportunity to share how their personal experience with D.A.R.E. helped them to make good life choices.   CLICK HERE TO REQUEST D.A.R.E. By giving students hands-on experiences in the fields of marketing, business and entrepreneurship, DECA enhances the classroom experience by providing conferences and competitions that mold high school students into character-driven leaders. Find out how you can be part of making a difference.

Washington DECA currently has over 10,400 members in 144 chapters across the state and is the fourth largest association in the nation.
DECA is the only student organization operating in 50 states, the U.S. Territories, and Canada that attracts individuals to productive careers in marketing, management, and merchandising. It is a co-curricular organization and serves as an integral part of the classroom instructional program.

SAFE DRUG DISPOSAL NW is Proud to Sponsor DARE to Succeed!
Properly disposing of unused medications by NOT flushing them or NOT pouring them down the drain is one small step we can take to ensure that people do not obtain unused medications or personal information found on discarded prescription bottles.
One simple way we can combat this threat is to make sure medicines are disposed of safely.
Safe Drug Disposal NW is a campaign to educate patients how to dispose of left-over or expired medicines safely. With a cooperative effort among pharmaceutical researchers, public health and safety organizations, non-profit organizations, health care providers and patients, we can reduce the risks from this easily preventable threat to personal health.
